We always try to emphasise the fun of fencing and students are introduced to the kit and weapon on day one. We do not believe in the old fashioned idea that students don’t pick up a sword for the first 6 months or so! |
Our beginners courses for boys and girls between 7 and 18 years of age run for one school term. Students are taught the basic skills of fencing with foil and at the end of the session we expect them to be ready to take their bronze fencing award. We prefer to limit the beginners group to circa 10 fencers and there is usually a waiting list |
Beginners sign up for the whole term and pay a fee which covers the full cost of the course. Students should wear their own training type trousers, a long T-shirt and training shoes or similar |
When they have completed the course, our fencers are encouraged to think about what they want from the sport Some just like to attend the club once a week and others like to compete |
The fee for our beginners course is £95. This covers the cost of tuition, a TRYB T-shirt, the use of club fencing kit and equipment and insurance for the duration of the course (one school term) |
At the end of the course, fencers wishing to continue fencing at TRYB pay our standard fees which are currrently £60 per Quarter (3 months) or £50 for fencers providing their own kit |
Please remember that we will limit the course numbers to 10 fencers and there is usually a waiting list |
We strongly advise those interested to sign up early to avoid disappointment |
TRYB is a non profit making organisation. The committee give up their time free of charge and all income is spent on the club |
